Kirk Cousins’ Record Against Every NFL Team

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Kirk Cousins ranks sixth all-time in completion percentage (min. 1,500 pass attempts) and eighth all-time in regular season passer rating (97.8), but his frequent losses on the big stage have painted a less-than-stellar picture of him. At age 36, time is beginning to run out on Cousins’ Super Bowl window.

Without further ado, let’s dive into Kirk Cousins regular and postseason record against every NFL team.

Cousins vs the Detroit Lions

Kirk Cousins has a career record of 78-70-2, and he’s padded that winning record on the backs of the Detroit Lions.

Cousins is 8-3 against Detroit all-time, representing his most wins over any one team. His completion percentage against the Lions is a solid 72.6%, but his touchdown-interception ratio is an otherworldly 23-2.

Cousins vs the Chicago Bears

The division-rival Chicago Bears are the team that Cousins has had the second-most success against, going 8-4 all-time.

The Vikings swept the season series over the Bears in 2022, scoring 29 points each time. They squeaked out another win over Chicago in Week 6 of the 2023 season, prevailing 19-13.

Cousins vs the Green Bay Packers

Cousins has had some memorable battles with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers over the years, going 6-4-1 against the hallowed NFL franchise. It remains to be seen if the Packers can keep up with Cousins with Jordan Love at the helm in 2023.

Despite the regular season success against Green Bay, Cousins lost his lone playoff meeting with the Packers in his postseason debut on Jan. 10, 2016 by a score of 35-18. Cousins was sacked six times in the defeat.

Cousins vs the New Orleans Saints

The lone postseason victory in Cousins’ career so far came at the expense of the Saints, 26-20, in 2020. The game went to overtime and it ended controversially, as tight end Kyle Rudolph may or may not have pushed off before hauling in Cousins’ game-winning pass.

Cousins’ regular season mark against New Orleans is a nondescript 3-3, which includes a narrow 26-24 win at home in Week 4 of the 2024 season.

Cousins vs the Dallas Cowboys

“America’s Team” has given Cousins the most problems of any team in the NFL, as he’s a dreadful 2-9 against the Cowboys all-time.

Cousins suffered one of the worst losses of his career vs. Dallas in 2022, as the Vikings got pummeled 40-3 in Week 11.

Cousins vs the Indianapolis Colts

Cousins’ overall record against the Colts is an unremarkable 1-1, but he engineered one of the all-time great comebacks against Indianapolis in 2022.

Down 33-0 at halftime, Cousins & Co. improbably stormed back to win 39-36 in Week 15, completing the largest halftime comeback in NFL history. Cousins had 34 completions for 460 yards and four touchdowns, both high-water marks for him last season.

Cousins vs the Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders are one of three teams Cousins has a perfect 2-0 record against, the Jaguars and the Commanders being the other two. The only other team Cousins has never lost to is the Texans (1-0).

One of Cousins’ best prime-time performances came against the Raiders on Sunday Night Football on Sept. 24, 2017, as he went 25-for-30 for a season-high 365 yards and three touchdowns, earning him an NFC Offensive Player of the Week Award during his final season with Washington.

Cousins vs the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

At first blush, Cousins’ 2-2 record against the Buccaneers is forgettable. But a 2015 victory over Tampa Bay, in which Cousins led Washington back from a 24-0 deficit to win 31-30, led to perhaps his most memorable NFL moment when he shouted “You like that!?” at reporters as he entered the locker room.

Cousins had another unforgettable performance against the Bucs in Week 5 of the 2024 season when he threw for a career-best 509 yards and completed a 45-yard TD pass to KhaDarel Hodge in overtime to lead the Falcons to a dramatic come-from-behind victory.
